Pakistan’s Independence Day, is a declaration of the Kashmiris right to self-determination. In defiance of the curfew imposed by the Indian army in Occupied Kashmir, the people venture out to raise the Pakistani flag. The entire valley reverberates with slogans of Pakistan Zindabad, as the Kashmiris express their solidarity, love and respect for Pakistan. This contrasts sharply with the Indian Independence Day, on August 15, which is normally observed by the Kash-miris as “Black Day”.

The floodwater took Ehsan Ali and his family by surprise. "At first we thought that the water wasn't so serious," says the farmer, 44, who worked on the rice fields that stretch across Shikarpur district. "Then they suddenly made an announcement in the mosques, telling us to run for our lives. A lot of water was coming." As the water crept across the farms of Pakistan's province of Sindh, drowning thousands of acres of crops, tens of thousands gathered whatever possessions they had and fled.

In US estimation Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Korean Strait are the most dangerous areas in the world, and has launched a new satellite named Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) in May 2010 for spying on these areas.
